Manabu Yamana (山名学, born 8th June 1965) is a Japanese game designer and programmer from Tokyo. After having worked on MSX and PC-88 computer games during his high school years, he joined Chunsoft while attending college. He was one of the programmers for Dragon Quest games. In 1992, he founded Heart Beat and led the development of several Dragon Quest installments. After the company's dissolution in 2002, he went on to found Genius Sonority.
