Overview edit · view history

For 44 years following its 1919 founding Tandy, was essentially a leather supply company ("the Hinckley-Tandy Leather Company"), but one that (like CoLeCo) found itself in possession of an electronics division, RadioShack, at the time of the great consumer computing explosion. This resulted in their 1977 offering of the TRS-80, which they claim to be "the first mass-produced personal computer", followed by the TRS-80 CoCo and later a line of early IBM PC clones.
