Jared A. Sorensen is a writer and game designer based in New York City. He started off his career in the game industry in 1997 as a software tester on the Petz series of games from PF Magic. Since then, he's worked for companies such as Mattel Interactive, Evite.com, EQuill Inc., LucasArts Entertainment, Atari, Tilted Mill Entertainment,Turbine, Inc., Hidden City Entertainment and Propaganda Studios.
He’s designed social networking and transmedia games for media companies, taught game design at NYC public schools, attended GenCon and other conventions as a Guest of Honor, given talks on game design and independent publishing in the United States and abroad and contributed games and essays to several websites and ‘zines including RPG.net, Flames Rising, and Daedalus.
Memento Mori Theatricks (MMT), was formed in 1997 to publish free gaming material on the web. Now, MMT is involved in commercial print and web publishing, as well as a design studio specializing in freelance writing for both traditional RPGs and computer/console games.
At the end of 2011 Jared released "Z-Ward" and "Z-Ward-X" after a highly successful Kickstarter raised over $7000 to fund these printed games.After freelancing for Facebook game companies Arkadium, Guerillapps and Rounds, Jared became the senior game designer at Plyfe.me.
