After receiving a Bachelor of Architecture from Penn State University in 1996, Jacob accepted a position at LucasArts Entertainment Company, where he was a Level Designer on Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II (PC), Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith (PC), and Star Wars: Episode I Racer (N64/PC). After creating backgrounds for Escape From Monkey Island (PC/PS2), he joined Nihilistic Software to work as a designer under then President/CEO/Design Director Ray Gresko. After Ray's departure Jacob worked as Lead Designer on StarCraft: Ghost and Marvel: Nemesis.

In 2005 he returned to the East Coast with his wife and family, and is currently working for Crackpot Entertainment as Lead Level Designer on Insecticide.
