Die Spielidee ist ein Knaller und läßt diverse andere Softwarelangweiler schnell im Regal verstauben. Wo andere Firmen sich nur noch in geringfügig voneinander unterscheidenden Versionen diverser Flugsimulatoren und Rollenspiel-Systemen ergehen, setzt Psygnosis mit diesem kecken Denkspiel neue Ideenmaßstäbe - ein Muß für die gutsortierte PC-Spielesammlung. Grafisch und akustisch hielten sich die Programmierer mit Protzereien zurück und unterstrichen vielmehr den witzigen Charakter. Die hinreißend animierten Titelhelden sehen zu drollig aus; der schräge AdLib-Sound bietet angenehme Musikbegleitung.

Lemmings is a puzzle game that is very cool, original, refreshing, and interesting in every way! Yeah, you get the picture - I like this game A LOT. The concept is very cute: on each level, your task is to save as many lemmings as possible. Lemmings are small creatures with green hair that wobbles back and forth while they walk. This game will provide fun and pleasure for both kids and adults. Therefore, a mark of 5 for wonderful gameplay and originality, excellent graphics, and great sound. There is absolutely nothing that I can hold against this jewel! Highly recommended!

This version retains lengthy challenge from the other versions. If you're looking for some Game Boy puzzle fun, pick Lemmings up and them on.

Utterly bizarre, pleasingly original and totally addictive. Invents a totally new category - the save 'em up. As is the norm with such strikingly original concepts, some may wonder what all the fuss is about. Love it or loathe it, you can't ignore it. Lemmings rule.

Lemmings is perfectly suited for the mouse-like touch controls of the DS, but through various acquisitions, Sony owns exclusivity rights to the series, which explains why the upcoming handheld release is PSP only. But SNES owners can search eBay for this strongest overall adaptation. The solutions give a great sense of accomplishment, and the multiplayer makes the SNES version a must-own for Lemmings fans. Every skill is important, and the ways they need to be used become more creative as the levels progress. It's a thinking person's game, and the Lemmings formula never tires.

Lemmings is the epitome of the thoughtful, imaginative programs that people so often claim 'aren't made anymore'. Surprisingly enough Psygnosis, the masters of graphical glitz, have proven the falseness of that argument by resisting the temptation to slip in even a single layer of parallax scroll, instead focusing on the brilliantly original gameplay. As with Loderunner and Boulderdash it's different enough to keep you hooked for ages, yet also instantly and compulsively playable. The tiny lemming sprites have bags of character, with some superb animation, and it's great fun trying to save them – or simply leading them into dramatic catastrophe! The explosive 'apocalypse' option is always worth watching. This violent element, combined with the lemming's irresistible cuteness, should ensure the thoughtful and varied action achieves the commercial success it richly deserves.

Les quelques cinématiques ne sont pas aussi drôles qu'elles essayent de l'être et les musiques ont une forte intonation comique qui n'était pas aussi prononcée à l'origine et qui leur retire un peu de beauté, mais l'essentiel lui est bien là, intact. Posséder un ordinateur était moins fréquent alors qu'aujourd'hui, adapter un tel jeu sur une grande variété de consoles était une opération d'utilité publique!

Spiele mit Eigendynamik sind die momentanen Schätzchen in der Software-Landschaft. Bei "Populous" und "Powermonger" wuseln nette kleine Männchen als Untertanen des Spielers über den Bildschirm; bei "Sim City" sorgt die simulierte Bevölkerung für Aufstieg und Niedergang einer Stadt. Der neueste, aberwitzigste und drolligste Sproß der Kettenreaktions-Tüftelspiele stammt aus Liverpool: Psygnosis veröffentlicht in diesen Tagen "Lemmings", das neue Programm von Dave Jones und seinem Team DMA-Design, das mit "Blood Money" bekannt wurde. Nach jenem harten Ballerspiel hat sich der gute Dave dem Denk- und Strategie-Genre zugewandt. Doch - dem Zeitdruck sei Dank - auch bei Lemmings geht es herzhaft hektisch zu.

Lemmings is a fine game. Although its appeal will inevitably wain once all the levels have been completed, the precision and control faciliated over each lemming is enough to make it worth playing anyway.

You have to wonder, don't you? I mean, all lemmings do is wander around the countryside, eating grass, chatting to the neighbours and excreting every so often. Then they decide that Iife's not worth it and promptly chuck themselves off the nearest deadly precipice. Not exactly a cast-iron philosophy on which to build a community is it?

Psygnosis have done the impossible by squeezing Lemmings into the Spectrum. It may be monochrome but it's an excellent conversion.

When we reviewed Chip's Challenge last issue we thought that it would be a long time before anything would top it. But Lemmings has accomplished that task. It is absolutely amazing while being very original. It reminds me of the sort of addictive games that we used to play on the C64. The sound is good and adds a lot of humour, while the graphics, although not top quality, work very well and are more than adequate. Whatever type of game you enjoy you'll enjoy Lemmings. Totally amazing.

Lemmings successfully walks, blocks and bashes it's way to the SNES. Although, sometimes the control pad just isn't enough to keep the little suicide-bent cartoonish characters from falling to their death. Playing on a PC is preferable since you can use a mouse to guide the little buggers safely to the exit. The music's still catchy, the graphics are still attractive, and the gameplay is still incredibly fun. Lemmings for the SNES is everything the PC version was, and just as fun!

This is a highly addictive game with a few problems regarding to the flow of the game. Before I go, I would like to point out that the music is very derivative of Tetris, which is a good thing. And don't forget that Lemmings are terribly cute!

Die Landschaft scrollt horizontal und ist einige Bildschirme breit, auf einer Art Radarschirm ist die Gegend in Umrissen zu erkennen. Die Grafik ist denn auch der einzige Schwachpunkt des Spiels: Zwar wurden die Viecher selbst recht putzig animiert, dafür sind die Landschaften eher trist. Gesteuert wird übrigens ausschließlich mit der Maus (zumindest bei der Vorabversion, die für unseren Test zur Verfügung stand). Alles in allem hat Lemmings in der Redaktion wahre Begeisterungsstürme entfacht – ein actiongeladenes Strategiespiel mit einer superoriginellen Idee, das jeden sofort in seinen Bahn zieht!

Considering the limitations of hand-held machines, this is a cracking conversion of the classic – provided Lemmings is your thing!

Still, Lemmings is an original, classic puzzle game worth picking up no matter which platform it's on. The hours will melt away like ice cubes on a furnace as you play all-powerful deity to the green-haired, helpless critters.

Originelles, gut durchdachtes Denkspiel mit 180 Leveln und intelligentem Zwei-Spieler-Modus. Witzige Grafik, Passwörter zur Genüge- Vorsicht! Lemmings raubt Schlaff und macht süchtig! Die Steuerung per Joypad ist nicht ganz problemlos, aber erlernbar. Die Musik ist ziemlich schräg und deswegen auf Dauer kein Hit.

Tough, challenging and full of things with green hair going bang! This game's going to cause a lot of late nights for a lot of people.

A stable conversion of a classic game. Spoilt by a few defects but worth a look for die-hard Lemmings fans anyway.

The learning curve is perfectly balanced between an easy introduction to the different jobs the lemmings can do and brain-busting challenges in the later game. That alone can keep you occupied for months!

Lemmings er et spil, der ikke er belastet af vold og død, som de fleste andre spil...lige med undtagelse af de stakkels Bomber-Kamikaze-Lemminger. Her kommer du ikke langt med hurtige fingre alene, du skal også bruge hjernen. Lemmings er et af vores favoritspil til Super NES og Game Boy-versionen er næsten lige så god. Naturligvis kan man ikke sammenligne grafikken og lyden, men udfordringen og spilkontrollen er af samme høje standard. At man desuden kan have spillet med sig alle vegne, gør det til et must for alle lemming-freaks.

Het enige bijzondere aan deze uitgave zijn de graphics en het intro verhaal. De graphics van het spel zelf zijn daarentegen CD-I onwaardig.

Reviewing the Genesis port of Lemmings isn't quite as cut-and-dry as reviewing a game that remained exclusive to the system or even the era. Even in 1992, gamers had a bevy of virtually identical versions of the game to choose from, and the crowd grew dramatically within just a few short years. It's undeniable that the classic gameplay that so enamored gamers in the early '90s is just as fun and addictive today as ever, but while time has been kind to the source material, the same isn't completely true of the way it's represented here. Lemmings on the Genesis, while a perfectly enjoyable and fundamentally solid port in its own right, was eclipsed by later releases that offered essentially the same experience with fewer bugs.

In the end Lemmings is a fun game no matter what system it's for. The Lynx version isn't the best on the market, but it's among the best for a portable. It keeps it's high level count, easy to remember passwords, and humor, and that's enough for me to recommend it. Good show.

The appeal of these little workers has crossed many platforms over the years, but you have to admit it's getting a little tiring to see the same thing all over again on a different system. The levels found in this game are basically the same and won't be a challenge to those who have already played this thing out. Don't get me wrong. Lemmings is a good game, but it's not fresh and won't appeal to those who expect something new.

It's been on every system from PC to NES, now it's the Game Boy's turn to get this strategy game. If 100+ levels of puzzles sound like your idea of fun, take a walk on the wild side!

I would recommend buying this game. There isn't any blood or fast action, but there are so many levels that it will take a while to complete. Lemmings offers many hours of brain stimulating gameplay --- excellent if you have plenty of time to kill.

With 120 levels and four skill settings ranging from fun to mayhem, Lemmings is a handful for gamers who love simple strategy. As for this CD-i version, there's nothing here Lemmings fans haven't already seen.
