Silverball
Description official descriptions
Silverball is basically a commercially published version of the game Epic Pinball. The game engine is nearly the same, only the tables themselves are different. It comes with four tables: Fantasy, Blood, Snooker Champ, and Odyssey. Some distributions (Silverball Plus 2) include two extra tables, Warbot and Duel, which are more or less the same as the Excalibur and Magic tables from Epic Pinball with some different art and music. Finally, a seventh table, Nova, may or may not be a part of the game - see Trivia for details.

Worst pinball game I ever played

That's the only pinball game I've ever played when you'll come to find perfectly natural to see each of your balls go directly down the drain without even having a slight chance to touch it with your flippers 95% of the time.
The Bottom Line
This has nothing to do with pinball, in any way.

This looks and feels like a less polished version of Epic Pinball
The Good
* The fact you get seven tables; some of which are quite good.

* The engine can be a bit sloppy - balls getting stuck on flippers, for example -
Two tables (WarBot and Duel) are similar to tables in Epic Pinball - apart from sounds and graphics, they are so similar as to be the same. The themes of the tables are also dodgy - whereas Epic Pinball has Excalibur, and old-fashioned, wooden table, Silverball uses the layout for Warbot, which, being about robots, feels wrong.
The Bottom Line
An under publicised game - if you like Epic Pinball, you'll love this collection of seven tables - even if two are similar to those in Epic Pinball (another one has the same music!)

The Good
The graphics for most of the tables are very good, the music is just plain great and the gameplay is OK.
The Bad
The second and third tables are rather annoying and you get tired of the game after a while.
The Bottom Line
A fairly playable Epic game which may as well not be worthy of the name.

Trivia
To be able to run the Nova table (if you can't already):
Find the file PIN3.EXE. This is the main file for the Nova table, you just need a DAT file (the table/highscore pic), a PSM file (music) and a PIN file (sound effects) to go with it. Copy one of the PIN.DAT files to PIN3.DAT, one of the SONG.PSM files (I believe the Jungle Pinball tune may be in there, unused) to SONG3.PSM, and one of the SF*.PIN files to SF3.PIN. Finally, you will want to hexedit the first few bytes of PIN3.DAT to read "NOVA" rather than another table name. You will see the wrong table at the highscore screen, hear the wrong music, and get a few wrong sound effects, but the table can be played!
Actually, it was Purple Motion/FC who was supposed to make the music for the Nova table (find NOVA.S3M in any Purple Motion file archive), but I did not find his tune in this distribution.
